Mondrian spent his entire  life searching for balance and perfection.  He sought them by depriving  all the forms of  superfluousness through  painting.   His canvases  show us  the path of  his research  that  guided him towards  a gradual  omission of details.
Mondrian began  as a figurative  painter, little he moved towards  a non-representational   form,  approaching the  essential,   by creating  a pure  plastic  art where lines and  colors became his  only  means.  He founded Neoplasticism,  in which essential forms  were  the idea of an eternal  and incorruptible art, finding  its harmony  only  exploring  lines,  geometry  and  primary  colors.
Pieter Cornelis Mondriaan

All painting show us that its essential plastic means were only line and color.
